This was taken looking out the window of our room at the Villa Camerata. I loved all the country houses in view. It's amazing that there is so much open land, as the villa was very close to the downtown part of Florence. Villa Camerata is a youth hostel just outside of Florence. This stunning villa dates from the 15th century and also has some of the most incredible views of the city... there are formal gardens, a nearby vineyard and a campground. It's quite a walk (probably half a mile or so) from the main road where you have to catch the bus but the scenery's amazing; I would not want to walk it after dark, however! It was always a very peaceful and serene walk after a long day of sightseeing, however.
