Nestled between the roaring Atlantic surf and the fortified walls of old San Juan is a bad place with a pretty name...La Perla! Its pictoresque pastel colors belie the fact that it is a notorious and very dangerous slum, where drugs, poverty and prostitution rule. It is unwise for a foreigner to wander here...even at high noon.
Recent reports have it that Donald Trump wants to turn "The Pearl" into a casino/resort. He better take a bunch of modern-day Wyatt Earps and Bat Mastersons along with him to the negotiations! Even the cops of San Juan are reluctant to enter here.
