Photographer’s Note
lately polish cows and stray cats have become quite popular on TE so, after some sunday pondering, I've decided to give this little, furry llama adolescent from northern chilean altiplano a chance. i just found him/her incredibly funny; so funny, that i had to jump out of our truck despite strong winds and sand flying everywhere.
the encounter happened as we were driving along the 200+ kilometer long, washboard like dirt road Putre-->Surire National Park-->Isluga National Park-->Colchane. if you attempt to do the same: don't forget to bring spare gasoline and inquire with the rangers/carabineros if the road is even passable.
workshop: a broader view. pay attention to the peculiar highland cloud 'hair' in the background.

Hi Kristaps,
Very funny shot! The workshop is great as well. I love the two-toned fur, and the expression on the llama's face. Nice sharp landscape and good frame choice.
Thanks for sharing!

Hahaha! Kristaps! That's excellent!
Well framed, with a good timing, and the title fits so well! Impossible to guess what it is in the thumbnail, so, it's a full surprise when we open the picture! Well done!

this looks like a teddy bear on a diet, neck stretched in hope to find something to eat...
kitchy photo, but that's how I look at practically all "cute" photos of animals, regardless of the intentions of the author (I know yours WERE about kitch). I do like the colours, the different, but subtle differences of gray, red and green in the grass is fascinating, and such a contrast with brigh fur of the animal.
hugs,
K.

She looks as startled to see you as you were to see her. Nice cutesy image. I don't think I have seen one this colour before. It's not an alpaca is it?
The wide view in the WS is good too with her B&W mate. Not sure I understand the reference to cloud 'hair'.

Hi, Kristaps. You found a very good model there. With its two-coloured fur, it's really trendy. It stands well out against the altiplano vegetation and stares at the camera like a star. To be honest, I think I prefer the workshop which shows a broader view towards the hills of the background and the sky. Unfortunately, the other llama is not as professional as this one.
Have a nice day,
Philippe

Kristaps, what a magical place you visited, this is so different than other Chile travel shots I have seen before and it is ultimately more interesting. This and the ws are great, superb presentation.

Hello Kristaps! Ohhhhhh :))) Totally cute and I guess the animal was a little curious what you were doing on this high terrain, maybe even thinking that this was his or her place but acutally it looks pretty content and not too worried. Lovely photo, makes me happy and SMILE! Barbara ...

Kristaps,
Sure is a worthy picture. I really enjoy the landscape itself, the young lhamas is an added bonus. He does look funny, and most lhamas look somewhat funny, that why we like them. Beautifully composed image. thanks

Bonjour Kristaps,
il n'essaye pas de se camoufler dans cet herbage aux couleurs ternes, il aurait plutôt tendance à se montrer. Une photo sympathique d'animal en liberté comme on aime les savoir.
Regards.
Daniel.
