Photographer’s Note

A scene in Stilluppgrund or Stillupp Valley:

Road through this valley is mostly used by farm vehicles. Some taxi vans take tourists to guest houses along the route. Other than that the narrow road is very quiet & vehicle free.

Photo was taken during a walk that started in Mayrhofen and ended at Stillupphaus. First part was a moderately easy walk over forested slope & ridge, then down onto the valley on winding & undulating asphalt road. On your right & left would always be forested slopes, river, occasional waterfalls, farmhouses, guesthouses, dam etc. In front of you would be the ever present snow capped peaks of the Zillertal Alps, and snowy peaks of the Penken Alps behind you. For refreshments & food you could always stop at the four "Gasthof" strategically placed along the route. If you are lucky to can catch a private taxi back to Mayrhofen for six euros (from Stillupphaus).

Hallo Latiff!
A really wonderful sight - especially now in winter. A very inviting place. I like the skillful composition of the photo which combines the "eternal" ice and these green meadows. I would like to step into your photo now ... ;-)

Hi Latiff.

I was a few years ago also in this area although my weather was not as good as you have here. I went up to the dam, but weather was too bad to see something interesting. Here you have the Zillertaler Alps in the back and they look great in contrast to the lower part and give us exactly that Austrian Alps feeling. Cows in front make the image more alive and the red car give some extra colour inside.
Exposure is spot on, but it is your composition what i like best here...

Well composed photo, good colors, very clear for such big area covered. Especially I like that left upper corner, the sky and snow against the green.

your continental landscape is really wonderful. the environment and its beautiful element are classical and pure. really like on seeing mountains, cows , cottage and soft blue sky. you hit the right van of bright red to higlight the beauty.
