A woman waiting to meet her date at a water fountain. You will not miss the water fountain decorated with a statue of a smiling farmer holding a pitcher of wine fronting the Marktplaz . Perhaps he is beckoning visitors to take it easy and have a taste of the region's Franken wine.

The vineyards are to be found along the bank of Main River which passes through Wurzburg. The river and its tributaries provide vines with good irrigation, but unlike the Rhine, the Main does not provide a balanced climate. There are often quick changes in the weather which makes the life of the grapes in the vineyards - planted on the hilly slopes bordering the river - more difficult than in other regions .... but it results in a heartier wine.
