Photographer’s Note

The shot was taken in the Bazaar ( = market ) of Masouleh . The main handicrafts of this historical village are:
-Some steel tools , a kind of gun ( an old one called Sar Por in Persian ) and knife
-Knitting dolls, socks and gloves
-A kind of loosely- woven carpet named coarse ( = Jajim in Persian ) , short napped coarse carpet ( = Gelim in Persian )
-Some local shoes n slippers

The Bazaar of Masouleh is a live
one, like many old markets in almost all of the old cities and towns of Iran.

Hello Atousa,
The old man is perfectly placed in a front corner, balancing the composition and providing depth to the picture. This narrow street looks like an interesting plcae for a stroll among all the goods in the small shops. Everything has been captured in good colours and sharpness.

Salam Atousa. The street is charming and the place looks beautifully placed amongst the hills. I loved your earlier shot and i like this one also. Somehow it reminds me of the Balkans and the man too could easily be from Albania or Bosnia.I like looking at all the details of the structures, the aged wood, the slate covered street. Lovely depth and light. Is Masouleh far from Teheran? Regards. Klaudio.

Away from the worries of the materialistic treadmill, this man's world looks tranquil. Amongst the things which haven't been made on an assembly line he looks at peace, he is lucky that the global economic downturn would turn his reality upside down.

Both images are good and either could have been the main post, but I think this one with the elderly gentleman in the foregound was the right choice. The wodden doors make a good background for him. Then our eye is carried up the street through the colourful market.

Hello Atousa,

I think this is same place I know from one of your earlier post that a lady was sitting at stairs. Your photo is full with life and still well protected oldest atmosphere. Excellent addition of elder man while resting in your corner too. I like also your complementary post with different view, still hazy forest on hill in July. Congratulations.

A vivid portrait of the life on that interesting street where life seems to flow very smoothly. The weather looks more Autumn than Summer, but you took good profit of its smoothness to get perfect exposure in every areas of the photo while keeping a good contrast. The presence of the respectable old man aids much making it very appealing.

You picked the right day as the overcast light has provided a nice even light on the market. This was well composed with the older gentleman on the right hand side and the other shoppers further into the scene, both of which provide focal points for the eye to rest on.

Nice photos in your gallery, I choose this one because it me brings recollections of a trip that I realizes for your country, of which I have big recollections of your beautiful architecture and of your nice peoples.
The captivation of the bazaars is special and you catch your it here very well, I like the figure of the major man in the first plane but in an angle to show the whole scene, good color and quality.
