Photographer’s Note
The family is a very important concept in China. During the Spring Festival and Chinese New Year the effort is made for all familis to unite, share time and memories, and enjoy each other. Outdoor activities such as this one seen here represent a possible choice where the family enjoys winter fun together. This is the norm. This pond in Beijing had at least 500 small families scooting along the ice and sharing the time together.

Hi David. I really like this one. I think your photo represent your note about the Chinese family very well. I also experience this time as one, where you really see the human, caring and loving face of Chinese families, who are very busy working all year around. I find your photo very emotional; there's a lot of care expressed in this simple family activity. Besides; it's quite funny - they've got a use a lot of effort to move that cart, I suppose?
Thanks for sharing.

Hello David,
a pleasant photo, very spontaneous. And executed with sharpness and god contrasts.
Regards,
Paul

This is déja vu for me. When i was young, 50 years ago. We made sledges from the iron parts of skates and 2 wooden boards. It looks like the sledge in your picture.
Best regards Ben
