Photographer’s Note
Shovelling dung into a nice steaming heap on a cold January day.
We were walking round the far edge of the field, so this was taken on a large zoom.
I tried several shots, but I felt this was the best with the digger engulfed in the steam.
Does the title reflect the smell, the steam, the work for the digger driver or the fate of the manure? - you be the judge.

Hello Alastair,
It is good that this manure is used to good purpose, your photo has reality to it.
It is a good capture, like I feel I am just walking past the scene.
Good note, I liked that.
Next time I eat local potatoes or cabbage I will think of your photo.
Thanks for sharing
Regards,
Robert.

Excellent shot, Alastair. Natural colours, interesting event. I wonder if they were also removing dung from the heap - the foreground looks as if there is some newly spread dung on part of the field. I am just uploading my November shot of a complementary scene in a farm in Perthshire. Not the quality of yours, but I thought it was interesting to compare the actions.
