Lake Arenal is actually a reservoir in Costa Rica, formed in 1979 by enlarging a lake of the same name. Nearby is Mt. Arenal, the country's most active volcano. The area is surrounded by rainforest that is rich in lush vegetation and a menagerie of incredible wildlife.
