Photographer’s Note
The Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick opened in 2000 and has been gradually expanded ever since. These sculptures now adorn the entrance to the Centre and form a great foreground for the town as you come out.
One sculpture is of an Arctic Tern by Geoffrey Dashwood, the other is of three king penguins by the late George Graham.
Whaling boats used to go out from the town in the past and the local hill (Berwick Law) had whale jaw bones on the top. These have now been replaced by glass-fibre ones.

Getting a bit crowded here now! Still, it's good to see the tern back, and it's certainly the best place for the Gilberts.
Noce depth to this picture, and the warm tones in the clouds, treetops and sandstone plinth are a good foil to the dark bronze of the penguins.
Happy Mew Year,
Winifred

Hello, Al,
what a charming and whimsical scene. You chose a very nice angle to get all the heads in the shot. I like that warm misty looking light behind them that sets them off so well. Many thanks and warm wishes for a happy New Year!!
