Photographer’s Note
Mustafapasa is a little, lesser-known town in the Cappadocia region of Turkey and had a largely Greek population in Ottoman times. It's a short bus ride from Goreme, where you can stay in a cave hotel. A few million years ago, volcanic eruptions resulted in the surreal tufa-rock formations you'll see in this region. Cave dwellings, rock churches with frescoes, underground cities and fairy chimneys (pigeon houses) abound in this area.
