Paraty is a city located in the south coastline of Rio de Janeiro state in the area known as Costa Verde (Green Coast) that extends to Sao Paulo. Other cities located in the region are Angra dos Reis, Ilha Grande and Mangaratiba at Rio de Janeiro and Ilha Bela e Ubatuba at São Paulo state.
From Rio de Janeiro city to Paraty is a 3h travel by car. You can com by but too. The road have some problems since the region in some times of the year rain a lot and some landslides. Is good see the weather news before go there.
This was the fourth time I visit the city and it has not changed anything since 2005. My wife and I stayed in a little and charming inn names Pousada Centro Histórico located at Rua Da Lapa, 11. We go by bus (since I was without a car that time) and we arrived ther at 11PM.

To my misfortune I got dengue fever 2 days before the travel, and the medical prescrition was to stay in the bed. But This travel was scheduled 3 months ago with everything paied so I travel anyway. I have some days with fever and body pain, but nothing prevented me from having fun.

I stay in the city 2 days (May 26 and 27 of 2012) and there we visit some beautiful beaches, saw the Colonial/empire era architecture, we eat many delicious dishes and saw the Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit.
