Greece in winter is good too, even better! Not so many tourists populate the sites, much more space :), one has wider view to take panoramic pictures and it is still warm! Not so warm as in the hot summer, but rather bearable. Just maybe it rains a little, drizzling more than really raining.
Anyway, Greece is unique and very ancient - just imagine - in the 14th-13th centuries B.C. the Greeks already had buildings with columns! I was really impressed having learned this. (10 photos)

Wonderland... Switzerland. I would even call it a "Fairy Tale Land". One feels like being in a medieval tale of brothers Grimm in real life, walking in one of the Altstadts (old towns), getting spring water straight from one of the hundreds fountains, or sitting in a little park near one of the abbeys, not even mentioning the gorgeous, picturesque mountains with snow-covered peaks, or clouds, covering not the top - the middle of them(!) and lakes, Swan Lakes in reality! ... I studied and learned about London so much at the Foreign Languages Department, but had a strong wish and a chance to go there only past January. And I loved it and admired it. One evening I got a sudden phone call. A long-term friend of mine invited me to join her on her trip to Mexico! I thought ...for about 5 minutes and agreed! And never regretted. Our trip was a blast! Here you can see several moments of it. This is Yucatan peninsula, Cancun area. Vacations in USA are short, so a week is considered a good time to travel. This is what I do. I combined travelling with visiting my friends this time. At Cote d'Azur - French Riviera by Irina Prokofyeva (665) 2005-10-08 - 2005-10-16

Everybody's impression: incredible.
Incredibly beautiful places: architecture, sea, colors, climate, history, location - vicinity of Monaco-Monte-Carlo and Italian Riviera, very nice people!

It started in the 6th century B.C. - such a long history!
It is really worth visiting.

A trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts by Irina Prokofyeva (665) 2005-08-06 - 2005-08-10

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, a cape in the Atlantic ocean. Provincetown, a cosy small town situated on its tip. Whale watching. Swimming. Sun bathing. Visiting towns, like Sandwich, where the famous-notorious "gamburger" - sandwich originated from, i.e. named after, and the first watermill in America was built! Taking a ferry to island Martha's Vineyard. Feeding seagulls from the top deck of the ferry - exciting, especially when they grab a cookie right from your hand, struggling with the wind. I was so impressed by Italy, that I started learning the language. It happened so, that I could make it there again, in September, after my first trip in July, 2004, so I even had some language practice! People understood me!!! I need more practice and training though.

Mediterranean Cruise by Irina Prokofyeva (665) 2004-07-04 - 2004-07-12

A dream of my life came true: I went on a Mediterranean cruise!
I can say that it was the happiest time of my life: I was happy every day, visiting a new place and even a new country every day!
It was also a birthday present for my daughter who turned 16 at that time. We celebrated her birthday in Naples, Italy and on a cruise ship "Costa Fortuna". I also got wonderful and talented friends there. Maybe that was really Fortuna?..
