This is an account of a pilgrimage to a place special to me and of importance in Buddhist history. It is the meaning of the site, rather than the quality of the pictures that is so important to me. This is the site of Kapilvastu the home of Prince Siddhartha Gauthama, who was to become the Lord Buddha. It was here, it is believed that the Buddha spent his formative years in the Palace of his father, the Sakya King.
