In May 2004 my wife and I flew to St. Petersburg to visit our son and the great city of Peter the Great. We stayed ten nights at a small hotel on Nevsky Prospekt, took in sights and museums and visits to our son and his girlfriend from morning till night every day. And we have not yet managed to do more than scrape a small viewing hole in the surface of the city and its history. This travelogue contains views through that hole. (17 photos)
