Kenya - development aid by Femke van der Horst (2633) 2006-01-12 - 2006-01-24

The entrepeneurs I work for, also have their own development aid organisation. it's called NOTS (Not One The Same; www.notsworld.com, where you can also see some of my photo's by the way!). I joined this trip to Kenya as the photographer.
The first project we visited was the Safe Water & Aids project in Kisumu, already partly funded by the Rotary. my first trip to the far east;Nepal by Femke van der Horst (2633) 2004-03-13 - 2004-04-01

This March I went on a 3 week trip to Nepal. As said in the subject, I'd only been to different countries in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; all 'well' developed countries.
I'm not too fond of the cliche 'culture shock', but it's true. It was!
Of course I read a lot before going, but actually being there is something else!
Sometimes I found it difficult the fully enjoy the beauty of the country and the friendlyness of the people, seeing how poor they are and how hopeless their political situation seems to be. ... (full story) (56 photos)
