Three of us hiked for about a week and a half from the highway outside Pokhara, Nepal to Jomsom. We walked along the Kali Ghandaki River Gorge, saw incredible vistas of the Annapurnas and terraced farmlands.
Running out of time we chose to fly back out. The plane was a small prop model that carried a handful of people. If you crashed there was no expectation that you would survive. No seatbelts. The folks in the aisle were literaly sitting on folding aluminum/webbing lawn chairs.
Dirty plastic windows, wildly tossing plane, no opportunity to really frame or compose. I just stuck the camera to the window and let fly (love that digital). ... (full story) (4 photos)

A week before Easter, 1975, I took my first trip outside of the US, 10 days in France.
We landed in Paris with three suitcases. I had packed one medium sized case, my friend had packed two large ones. Being the guy.... Well, I quickly learned the lesson of packing light.
The light in Paris really is as special as people say. Mornings along the Seine are magic.
After a few days of Paris in the winter we traveled to the Normandy Coast, to Mont St. Michel, and returned to Paris in the spring.... (2 photos)
