In Africa, Asia, America and in fact even in Scandinavia (and for sure other parts of the world) babywearing was the ancient way of caring for and transporting the baby, long before the prams and modern baby carriers were invented. In some parts of the world this is still true - as this theme is showing. In Western countries more and more people are reviving this. Babywearing can be done with the simplest of pieces of fabric, or more expensive and/or complex ones.
