Themes

The Black Diamond Mines was a coal and silica mine and a mining town from 1850's to early 1920. It bacame a Regional Preserve in the 1970's. Today most of the mining district is within the Preserve's 5,985 acres. The place is an ideal location for hiking and picnicking.
