I find it very interesting for some landscape photos to make them in a version where 2 (sometimes 3) photos are vertical stitched.
The format is in a way towards the old 6x6 format.
I use PanoramaMaker for stitching and also for blending the colours of the 2 photos. Important as the lower and upper photo often have some differences in handling the light.
