Neve Tzedek is the oldest neighborhood in Tel Aviv. It was founded right outside mostly Arab Jaffa in 1887, as the first Jewish neighborhood in the area. When Tel Aviv was founded in 1909, Neve Tzedek became part of the city. Neve Tzedek is known nowadays as a picturesque place, with many old houses, small art galleries and interesting shops and restaurants.
