The Red Center is a name given to the Central Australian Desert, an area bigger than most European countries. The soil here is red with iron ore and the only vegetation that survives in one of the hottest and driest places on earth are the many species of Eucalyptus or gum tree that are adapted to survive there. It is an area so vast, that one farm (cattle station) is bigger than Belgium.
