There are 2 items that you can only see in Vietnam: áo dài and nón lá.

- Áo dài: Vietnamese dress.
- Nón lá: Vietnamese conical hat.

This theme is about nón lá.
Although I am a Vietnamese who spent two years 1975 & 1976 making hats for sale to keep my family's heads above water, I must admit that I didn't know completely the process of making hat, from the first step going to jungle to collect the nón leaves.

After my visit to Chong Kneas in 03-2005 and posted the theme 'Floating Misery' reflecting the miserable status of Vietnamese people living in this floating village over Tonle Sap Great Lake on TE, some of my co-workers at Alcon Laboratories and other friends at TE contacted me asking if I could receive and relay their donations directly into the hands of these human beings…. as they heard that I am going to return.
This is a brief report on my trip.
