The continuation of my previous themes on tall ships and traditional boats.

Some pictures taken on October 4, 2008, during the Nuit Blanche in Paris.

On September 11, 2008, the Irish sail training ship Asgard II sunk near Belle Ile in France.
I sailed on the ship three times (the last one in August 2008). These are my own pictures of the ship, or taken on board, which are (or will) be displaid in separate travelogues.
Update: I had initially created this theme as a group one, since I wanted to collect other pictures of the ship, but apparently it did not attract any. If someone has some and wants me to re-open this theme, please contact me.

Located in Hotel des Invalides as the Musée de l'Armée, the Musée des Plans en Reliefs is a unique collection of 3D historical models of cities and fortresses. Some of the models date back to Louis XIV (see http://plans-reliefs.monuments-nationaux.fr/en/). Part of the collection was deposited in the Beaux Arts Museum in Lille.

My first real week end after several spent at home to complete a personal work, and my first real test outdoor of a new Olypus E510 bought in October and not used since then. On Sunday February 17, 2008, I went to visit an interesting exhibition about the French photographer Edouard Boubat in the "Maison Européenne de la Photographie", right in the middle of "Le Marais", one of the oldest parts of Paris, and took a short walk along the Seine afterwards, at the end of a sunny afternoon.

A small serie around Notre-Dame de Paris used as test for my first real night pictures using a tripod. Probably a bit repetitive since there is only one topic, but it could possibly give some of you unfamiliar with the place an idea of the potential points of view at night.

The second one is now filled and it is time to open a third.

These are all pictures related to tall ships or at least old sailing ships taken here and there during several cruises, in the past or more recently.

Some views taken during one of the first sunny Sundays of January 2007, around Notre-Dame de Paris, the Louvre and the Palais Royal.

Continuation of my previous "square sails" theme dedicated to tall ships or traditional sailing boats.

This one is personal but if somebody want to take part in it, I will make it a group theme.
