Yeah, I admit it: pictures of dogs that fill me with a primal kind of protective love. The name "Dogtown" refers to the surf community that gave birth to extreme skateboarding (see: http://www.zboys.net/).

Surrealism: "Art movement expressing the subconscious and irrational, with fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtapositions."

Surrealism survives in the digital age, after André Breton, Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Paul Eluard, and the others who breathed life into it have died. Images may include posed subjects, effects, or be an ordinary image of a surreal object. Looking for that dream-like quality that leaves the viewer uneasy but impressed.

You won't find a single image of the CN Tower here, no postcards.

This is a real place: personal, grimy, lonely, glitzy, crowded, and varied. There's povery, art, commerce, crime, music, and literature.

This city has Poles, Africans, Italians, Cubans, Russians, and a lot more. It has the the largest Greek population of any city next to Athens (including other cities in Greece!).

Welcome. We say that to everyone 'cause we're so damned polite. Welcome, come on in.

Fashion (including clothing, tattoos, and accessories, plus shows, shoots, and ads involving them) are abiding interests of mine. The title of this theme is (a) a quote from the David Bowie song "Fashion," and (b) an inside joke for those who've seen the movie "Zoolander." Images should be strong regardless of the subject matter -- just fashion is not enough.
