Hi, down here in Florida, and in other southern states, we wear "straw cowboy hats". These are considered our summer hats because it is so hot here. We wear other heavier hats in the cooler months. From being raised in the south, with family having been involved with cattle and oil, I am guessing that this "Cowboy" is dressed for a day out to enjoy the Strawberry Festival and he is not riding any fences. Hope that answers some of your questions. BTW, Florida is a very large producer of beef. So we have lots of real cowboys here too! John, I hope you don't mind that I responded to this comment.
