Hi Sohrab,

Yeah, I did vignette it a little bit though part of it was also my shadow from lying on the grass. The lighting was strange; backlit but very diffused though I don't remember much cloud coverage at the time. (This lens doesn't vignette at all on its own, unlike my older 25mm).

There are a few ways to get the vignetting effect but I use the simplest method:
-Gradient Fill filter set to black, opacity between 12-20%, hard light blend mode. Drag in from the corners and then from the bottom. Experiment a little to get the right effect. Since you can apply this freely you can achieve both natural and unatural effects so while very simple, I find it the most flexible method. Changing the blending mode to, say, colour burn will enhance local contrast (and force blacks/whites right apart, exaggerating grain). Darken will lower contrast and make areas look flat. Normal is similar. Hard light/Soft light are my favourites at the moment-- a bit more diffuse than either burning or darkening.

I don't think I've posted a picture in a long time that hasn't featured some sort of added vignetting... :)
