To zig: Colour + CourageMKING::2005-04-06 4:10
Hi Zig,

Thanks for your critique (it's been a while since this image was posted!)

The colour version, if it was shot on colour film, wouldn't look any different. The three men were dressed in greys and blacks, the pavement is bluestone so it too is grey, the building behind them is white/cream, the sky is overcast...

As for courage I think I shot this on instinct. I heard them, then saw them then shot it. Luckily the camera settings were set to expose correctly because I didn't have time to change them (1/60 @ f/5.6 from memory). They never saw me-- too busy laughing.

Best thing about wide angle lenses is that when you're shooting people up-close you don't have to point the lens directly at them to include them in the frame so sometimes they think you're not looking at them when you are...
