I must say I enjoy creating good panoramas, but it is an art & science anyone that holds a camera can master with a little practice.
The point you have to remember is that a tripod is not always your friend here, unless it's a very high quality one perfectly calibrated. you're much better off holding your camera straight to your face, level the horizon around the middle of the frame, lock the exposure on the brightest side (or use a Point & shoot panoramic mode) and make your shots with some overlap.
then it's only a question of crunching it all through a stitching software, the easiest & fastest (and free!) one I'd recommend would be Autostitch:

Oh and the Corsican mountains are indeed harsh and difficult, but SO beautiful ;-)
