Oh yeah there was quite a haze there, it made the sharp ridges stand out clearly in front of the background ones. I must say it was mostly dust though, despite the proximity to teh mediterranean we were between 1000m and 2500m for pretty much all the GR20, so it was no sea moisture there but dust from the draught-parched earth & sun-baked rocks. Our ankles did not get as much workout as our knees, getting up takes some hard breathing but going down with a heavy packsack that takes a higher toll.
