Hi Barbara, glad to see you have returned to us!

I hope you will be showing off some of your vacation photos soon - so many folks have given up on the site lately, but some are trickling back in.

Sorry to hear you caught a cold, probably got that from the airplane - that's one of the reasons I avoid flying if at all possible. Too close to everyone else!

You probably already know this, but many black folks in the states descend from slaves that, when freed, took their master's name as their own. If you know of Thomas Jefferson and his slaves, some masters got pretty close to their slaves and produced actual blood relatives of their own. So, it is entirely possible that you are distantly related to either this man or his previously-adopted family from 150 or more years ago! I wouldn't be surprised in the least, people daily find their DNA in some fairly unexpected places. It's a big world, but it wasn't always that way.

Thanks for checking this one out, Barbara, it was a fun time in Memphis. It took me a few weeks of looking at the RAW version of this to decide how best to present it. I took several shots of all the drummers in the bands during this evening of blues - they were all steaming, perhaps not as noticeably as this gentleman, but to some degree.

Have a wonderful week yourself, drink some Nyquil (do they have that in Switzerland?) and sleep for a good 12 hours, you'll be better before you know it!

Thanks again!
