hey, this temple is one part of series of 34 caves in ellora, those are around approximately 2k yrs old all these caves cut into one hill and they built top down approach means they started from top and started cutting the rock and built the temple, whole temple is built in single rock for more detail you can search on net for Ellora & Ajantha caves or few links are given below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellora			IndiaIndia Stone Pillar - Kailash temple v4vjk (26)
