Hi latiff, I can answer some of that. i was there last year oct at the top. the reason to start 2 am is because the journey is slow due to lack of oxygen and the climb is steep from this point onwards. also the climbers wants to be early to catch the sunrise which is spectacular. unfortunately last year we were unlucky and couldnt see the sunrise due to heavy mist!
