Thank you again, Bev, for your kind and encouraging remarks.

We might differ sometimes, but this time I agree with you! I was much happier with this one than with the later picture. As I walked down to the harbour, I saw this pile of nets and floats and just couldn't resist them as a foreground to those lovely houses. Added to that, they also blotted out a line of parked cars, another great advantage!

I was indeed lucky that the light was so wonderful that day: I think the lighting on the houses was lovely and I only hope that I have managed to do it justice.

If modern polypropylene floats and nylon ropes have any photographic advantage over their older counterparts, it must be in their wealth of colours: as one whose husband is a fisherman, you will know better than I what other advantages they have in terms of strength, cost, durability and so on.
