Your advice about the focus is particularly helpful. Frankly, I just purchased my first digital camera (and have already broken it). I put most of my time into finding interesting photos and POVs by traveling, keeping my camera close, stopping at a moment's notice if something catches my eye, hiking, climbing (sometimes climbing trees), and going out of my eye to see things from a different perspective. I really need to put more study and work into the craft, and that is my next goal. That, and buy a new slightly better camera.
