Thank you for your kind remarks and thank you also for being so kind as to make me one of your "favourites"!

I'm sorry I've been a bit busy at work of late (I need to retire - I'm old enough!) and that I've not been very active here of late.

Anyway, I am pleased that you like this one. I rather liked it too. I took a few shots at this time but I think it was the wonderful curve of that rope tethering the boat to the harbour wall which really clinched it for me. Of course, I didn't really notice it at the time but only when I came to examine the pictures later on screen. The light was really perfect too: all I did was press the button. The sharpness I put down to my wonderful Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens - a perfect all-purpose lens for the majority of shots.

You will notice that my "cyberfriend" Peter Geldart (graffer) has done an excellent and very sympathetic workshop cloning out various lampposts and aerials and wires and that is a great improvement. I should have spent a little time doing that myself.

I promise to be a little more active here in the next few weeks!

Kindest Regards,

John.
