That is exactly it, George. She has the most beautiful smile one can imagine precisely because she lives on the beach with no electricity and running water. Right. As you say, we have everything here and everyone is so unhappy. Is this romanticism? Perhaps. In part, sure. But anyone who has seen it knows the truth of it. It runs counter to all our logic and all our expectations. Adam Smith would have no answer to this conundrum. But her unbridled laughter would send all his pages of theories flying off like grains of sand in the wind. Best, -Hugh

Bonjour, George,
What an incredible smile. And the contrast of her bright red blouse and the soft muted colors is stunning. I don't believe it takes "stuff" to make you happy, but I do enjoy having it for the most part. You know?/ Electricity, running water... It is nice if you can appreciate it and be happy even if you have "stuff". Shelly

She was smiling at you, sure! You looked like a friend, not as a thief of portraits. So the shy young woman smiled looking down, also if her life is so hard

Hi George,

she´s so shy, it´s charming ! I like the grainy look of this nice composition. Your note adds also much value to it, it completes the scene perfectly.
Cheers Christian

Hello,
Nice composition... and a good expression captured... vivid colors... the yellow in the frame is bit distracting...

Hello George,
Wonderfull capture ! Very good pov and nice compo. Nice colors and good light management.
And the message : "İt's not necessary to be rich, to be happy" ! She is seemingly happy.

Hehehe, lovely smile, George - it comforts my heart :). Interesting work of desaturation here, I quite like the effect: provides a special atmosphere and allows the girl to stand out - good contrast with the red of her blouse (and speaking of red: that's one detail I love here: the red nail polish on her little finger :) ).
Kind regards.

Hehe..

Hi George,
funny story, fantastic smile and gesture.
I'm not sure about the colors... for me they add nothing.

wielka sprawa, to zdjęcie...

Hi George, you've got a pretty hilarious note;-) and to be honest, when i first read your title my brain read Helene, not hehehe! Isn't it strange!?
I quite like the grainy side of this shot and its franck colors coming out of a pretty burnt BG. Maybe she was laughing out of shyness? or taking the mickey out of you maybe?? hehe!

Hi George,
Lovely, shy smile. And note that so well transfers the feeling. Good framing. Drying laundry gives a daily life atmosphere well.

Hi George, fantastic image..

the grain works perfectly..
ciao!

Hi George,
She looks shy isn't it ;-)
It's her pose and smile that makes the scene, but even the laundry plays an important role in the final image. You note gives us an idea that even George can be prince charming ;-)
Take care, Henk

I think the red is very essential here (the shirt, nail-polish and the lone bead in the bangles). The original works better for me than the WS. This is my favourite among your recent protraits.
