To Roly: Your Critique of my Mountain Cow Pastureedge::2008-11-30 14:56
Hi Roly, I happened to be browsing my site, which I have not used much since joining TREK until recently. I appreciate your comments, but this picture was shot in RAW, with a polarizer. I maintain a circular polarizing filter on four of my five lenses. I seldom remove it unless there is poor light or I am shooting portraits etc. There maybe some loss of sharpness, but no over saturation or noise in the sky. I have cropped this several times already. As for my gear, I also have a Leica with four lenses, a Nikon with four lenses and 12 other assorted film cameras. In addition to my Canon 30D, I use an Olympus point and shoot, SP 570UZ, just for the fun of it.

Having said all of the above, I will go back and check out the original RAW shot. I am sure your critique was well meaning, however I believe most of your conclusions were opionated and empirical. I think TREK is an interesting organization and there are probably many kudos handed out that are not totally deserving. Ha Ha

I note you live in Alberta with its great photographic potential. I have been to Calgary, Jaspar etc up to Edmonton on two occasions. Roger
