| Thanks for your comment and the time you took for my photos! Yes, you said it, it is barren and blunt on this side of the island, since this side is hit by the strong winds that dry the land, and make it hard for trees and vegetation to survive... erosion is the enemy here... but as soon as you cross some hills, the other side is plain green full of vegetation... impressive contrast!
