| Hi Jordan, thanks for your helpful critique on my photo. As I didn't spend any thoughts on it on location, I agree about your thoughts on the bush in the foreground - maybe I should have changed my POV further to the left. When I stood there I didn't dare, because further left would have ment crouching around in the middle of the road. Certainly you are right that the sign isn't in focus - and when I took the photo I didn't want it to be sharp. My attempt was to show the glacier as it is nowadays with a faint hint on the "better days" that might be in our minds. (Not in mine as I am born in the 1970's) Therefore to me it seemed to be a good idea to present the "long gone days" that much out of focus. But this idea isn't worth anything if I cannot transport it in my photos. I already think of how I'd do this if I ever come back to the Athabasca glacier ;-) Maybe I'll block the street and use a flashlight to light up the roadsign... Greetings, Oliver |
