To Buin: The lake and my old bikehrschwartz::2008-07-26 12:20
This lake can be very muddy and not so pretty. Last year with the drought, it was very low and not very nice. Some years ago, we had so much rain that the bridges were below the water level for a while (with some damage to the bridges and paths). This year the weather and rain has been perfect. It's a very nice outing when it isn't too hot and humid (i.e. early morning).

Yes that's my bike on the right. It's a very old touring bike- a "Raleigh" actually made in England. It has a generator with a headlight, a rack on the back, frame-mounted lock and two-position brake levers. I've replaced the gears and wheels, but it has a heavy steel frame. Being it's a very comfortable bike with rather large tires (good for riding on the wooden planks), it's perfect for riding around the lake.

In Europe I need a light bike for the mountains. Truth be told, I need an electrically assisted bike like Mady's. :-)) But with my lousy knees, I can't go very far anyway (but it's better than walking downhill!).

Randy
PS. I can't take much credit for the quality. Today's cameras do it all!
