| Thanks Gunnar for your kind words. As far as I know, a sluice is a channel where the flow of water can be controlled by a single gate, and is not designed for the passage of boats. A lock has two sets of gates whereby a boat can pass up or down between different water levels by flooding or draining the lock chamber between the gates. Regards, Peter. |
