I hadn't noticed this little opening until you pointed it out, but there are all sorts of strangely positioned arrangements for cats up here. I'll check next time I'm up there, but it's quite a climb. Anyway, thanks again for your kind words, and for regularly taking the time to critique my efforts. As to cropping - in this case I had managed to introduce a bit of tilt to the image - as one often does! - and having corrected the tilt, I found that if I didn't want to cut off the curvy bottom of the handrail, I had to manufacture a bit more wall on the right hand side with the trusty clone stamp. I also added a bit of tarmac at the bottom too. I think the only cropping was to level the top after rotating the image. Best wishes, Peter.
