Hi John,

The Brisbane City Botanical Gardens are quite pleasant, filling the pointy end of the CBD, surrounded by the Brisbane River. It has been replanted several times since establishment due to terrible floods (most recently in 1974). Also worth visiting is the Roma Street Parklands, not far from City Hall.

The best gardens in Brisbane would be those at Mt. Coot-tha. These gardens are huge, be sure to spend a few hours exploring the rainforest, Japanese Gardens, lakes and waterfalls as well as the tropical dome. Mt. Coot-tha is about 15 minutes from the city. Would be great if you could make it to Brisbane someday.

Matt
