| Such a post could certainly be from a beginner, but then the beginner would have to be a remarkably mature beginner. There are cases this this; one, for example, where a poet takes up painting at the age of 60 for the first time in life and has produced astonishingly mature and orginal work. I think we should respect TE members sufficiently well to accept that it is possible recognize the value of a post whether be it from a novice or from a cognoscenti--the identity of the artist hardly matters--but also able to distinguish serious art from a zany post. It can be difficult to interpret, of course, especially when, as in the present case, the artistic expression is a deep reflection of the inner self through an external being, where the line between a photograph and a charcoal drawing becomes obliterated, the boundary where self ends and non-self begins in blurred. | CambodiaCambodia ![]() insomniac man |
