Dear Christne, thank you for your interest in my pictures. You say "a little like in our Southern alpine region.." .You are right there. The passes reminded us of some unpaved passes in the Alps. Even the flora resembles (not on the species level, but for the genera) the Alpine- Mediterranean flora. The difference becomes apparent only in the valleys: in Tajikistan the villages are poor, there are almost no accomodations for tourists. We have more than once regretted the absence of "buvettes" or pass hostels. You asked about a travel story. I'm right now trying to assemble all the pieces for one, and I will use rhe contributions to TE (pictures and text) as puzzle pieces. But sorry, I'm not there yet.
