| Thank you for the comment and advice. It was just a snap taken last summer when I took the children out fishing in the evening. I only found this site by chance yesterday and decided to post the photo on it. The light itself is was the most easterly lighthouse on the island of Ireland and was first lit in March 1797. It was the 3rd off shore lighthouse to be built in the British Isles. It remained in use until 1877, when it was replaced by the Southrock Lightship. A lightship has remained on station until this day. |
