| Paul, Thanks for your feedback to my photo. You're right in most of your observations and I'm glad that you observed the 'symbolism' in the bush between them. I mostly uploaded this image for the Hunt's item 'Retirement' and I saw this couple as retired both from working life, as well as from the crowds inside the ramparts. I'm aware that I could have done better, but when it comes to photographing people I'm a beginner - I find it hard. This one - and it was the only one - I took with the camera on my table, pretending I was doing something else. I'm a bit embarrassed in the situation and need to practice. Also I need to practice alternate ways to present my photos, when they aren't that super. For example your suggestion, that this one would work well in black and white - due to the graininess and the darkness and lack of strong color - never occurred to me. Little less to do it in B&W and keep the colors of the Pepsi glasses. So I followed your suggestions and have uploaded the result as a WS. If you like you can go there and have a look and tell me what you think. Best regards, Kaj |
