Hi Beth, thanks for your useful comments. I know what you mean about the composition, however this was one occasion where I had no choice but to break the rule. My camera was actually on the pebbles (no tripod) with sea water half an inch below. It was near dark and very difficult to work without getting soaked by a freak wave. Vertical comp would be difficult not to say impossible without further risking the camera. Thanks again and all the best.
