| Sarju - You need to consider that until the mid-20th century NA had an unlimited supply of forest resources so logging and construction went hand-in-hand. But, in the later half of the 20th century we finally realized that the forest resources were not unlimited and forest management was something that needed to be addressed. Having grown up in a state with a lot of forest resources I was appalled at how the resources were harvested (i.e clear cutting) and the aftermath. I don't see NA as a desert, yes some area are a blight, and both countries in NA have abused their resources but I think we have learned our lessons, a bit late, but we are progessing and hopfully learning from our past. |
